Naga Panchami: Awakening the Sacred Energy

Naga Panchami is a Hindu festival dedicated to the worship of serpent deities (Nagas), observed on the fifth day of the lunar month of Shravan. Snakes are considered sacred in Hindu mythology, symbolising protection and fertility. Devotees visit temples and offer milk, flowers, and turmeric to snake idols or live serpents. Many believe that worshipping Nagas on this day pleases them and protects against snakebites. According to Hindu legends, the festival is linked to the divine serpent Adishesha, who supports Lord Vishnu, and the legendary Kaliya Mardan, where Lord Krishna subdued the serpent Kaliya in the Yamuna River.
